We are aware of the difficulties you encounter to pick full containers from the terminal and to return the empties back, thereby incurring a significant amount of detention costs.
In order to ensure continuity of Maersk service and maintain an exceptional customer experience, we would like to inform you that we have decided to change the amount applicable after the free time of detention rate for standard equipment.
Demurrage and storage costs : maintained and payable identically during the lockdown period.

To note
- invoices already issued for the concerned period will be subject to a credit note.
- the new conditions of detention cannot be subject to litigation
- the calculation of demurrage starts at the discharge of the container and stops at the full exit of the terminal
- the calculation of detention begins at the full exit from the terminal and stops at the empty return to the terminal
- from July 1, 2020 the standard rate will apply again.
- if you benefit from specific conditions, these remain unchanged
