In line with the Uganda government directive the effective 1st July 2022, please note that, all importers shall be mandated to procure marine insurance policies for their imports from local licensed insurance companies in accordance with Section 9 (3) of the insurance Act, 2017 prior to obtaining customs clearance.
- Provide for local Marine Cargo / Goods in Transit Certificate of Insurance on the Uganda Electronic Single Window (UESW).
- Ensure that all imports are insured by locally licensed insurance companies in liaison with Insurance Regulatory Authority of Uganda (IRS).
