Implementation of Rail Infrastructure Surcharge from April 1, 2024
In light of recent decisions by the German Government, there has been a significant reduction in the "Trassenförderung," a key state subsidy for the rail paths utilized by freight trains within Germany. This subsidy was previously factored into our vendors' pricing strategies for the year 2024. However, with the reduction of this financial support, our vendors are compelled to mitigate their financial losses by introducing a surcharge.
As a direct consequence of these changes, we find ourselves in the position of having to implement a surcharge of 9 EUR per TEU on all bookings made via Rail from/to Rotterdam. This measure is essential to continue providing you with the quality service you have come to expect from us.
Please be assured that we are closely monitoring this situation and will promptly inform you of any developments or changes.
We understand that this news may be unwelcome, and we sincerely appreciate your understanding and cooperation during this period of adjustment.
