Update to Maersk Customs Services Terms and Conditions, and Duty Payment Methods
We are writing to inform you that our Terms and Conditions have recently been updated. These changes are intended to better serve you and align with industry changes in the NCBFFA terms and conditions to adjust for changes in USCPB regulations.
Please take a moment to review the updated Terms and Conditions, available on our website at the following link: Updated Terms and Conditions
In addition, we wish to provide you with the following written notification regarding 19 CFR Section 111.29, which describes your rights on payment method of CBP charges: “If you are the importer of record, payment to the broker will not relieve you of liability for customs charges (duties, taxes, or other debts owed CBP) in the event the charges are not paid by the broker. Therefore, if you pay by check, customs charges may be paid with a separate check payable to the “U.S. Customs and Border Protection” which will be delivered to CBP by the broker.” Importers who wish to utilize the procedure must contact our office in advance to arrange timely receipt of duty checks.
Your continued use of our services constitutes acceptance of these updated terms.
Thank you for your attention to this matter and for your continued trust in our ability to serve you.
