Suspension of Low Water Surcharge (LWC) for Paraguay shipments
Reinforcing Our Commitment to Transparency, we hereby inform you that, after critical period, the Low Water Surcharge (LWC) will be suspended for exports and imports from/to Paraguay, effective from the Price Calculation Date (PCD) of May 24, 2025.
PCD = Price Calculation Date.
*For non-FMC, PCD refers to the scheduled departure date of the first water leg at the time of booking confirmation.
*For FMC, PCD is last container gate-in date for non-spot bookings.
*For Spot bookings, is the Booking Confirmation date.
It is important to emphasize that the application of LWC is determined based on the Price Calculation Date (PCD).
As a result, shipments transiting through Paraguay after the drought restriction may still be subject to LWC if it was in effect at the time of the PCD.
Conversely, shipments in transit during the drought restriction may not be subject to LWC if it was not yet effective at the time of the PCD.
Our teams remain at your disposal to support with your planning, should you need any assistance.
