Introduction of Inland Peak Surcharge for France carrier haulage and multi-carrier bookings via Rotterdam and Antwerp
Thank you for your continued partnership. As your integrated logistics partner, A.P. Moller –Maersk remains committed to ensuring your supply chain operates with agility, connectivity, and efficiency.
Due to recent congestion at the ports of Rotterdam and Antwerp, we have undertaken a review of our inland transportation cost structure to ensure its sustainability and accuracy.
To secure the necessary capacity in the market and minimize potential disruptions, we will be introducing an Inland Peak Surcharge (IPI/IPE) applicable to all inland transport modes for France deliveries via the ports of Rotterdam and Antwerp.
Effective June 1st, 2025, the surcharge will apply to all Carrier Haulage and Multi-carrier Inland bookings as follows:
- EUR 10 per TEU for all truck, barge, rail, and combined intermodal transport bookings to/from the deep-sea terminals of Rotterdam and Antwerp
- For import shipments, the surcharge will be applied based on the Estimated Time of Arrival (ETA)
- For export shipments, the surcharge will be applied based on the Estimated Time of Departure (ETD)
This surcharge will remain in effect as long as necessary to maintain service reliability and ensure access to the required inland capacity amid reduced turnaround times and landside productivity challenges. Please rest assured that our teams are actively monitoring the situation and will continue to provide timely updates should there be any changes.
We sincerely appreciate your understanding and cooperation as we navigate this extraordinary situation together. Should you have any questions or require further assistance, please do not hesitate to contact your local Maersk representative.
