We would like to inform you of upcoming major infrastructure works scheduled on the national railway network lined serving the ports of Genoa and La Spezia and Vado Ligure Port. Based on the latest developments, please find below an overview of the situation:
GENOA PORT
Total Rail Closure : No rail services will be available to or from the Port of Genoa during this period
Period: 2nd August – 31st August
Impacted Area: All rail traffic to and from Genoa
Reason: Infrastructure works related to the Third Pass (Terzo Valico) and the enhancement of the Genoa rail junction
Acceptance of rail cargo at Genoa will be suspended starting 21st July.
GENOA VADO LIGURE / LA SPEZIA PORT
Rail services to and from the ports of Genoa Vado Ligure and La Spezia will operate regularly during the June–September period, although train movements may be subject to diversions and/or restrictions, as well as possible delays and cancellations.
During the indicated period, we will strive to minimize the impact of these disruptions by continuing to offer ourr services by truck, both in Round Trip and One Way modes.
These works will result in longer travel distances and the need for extraordinary resources to maintain service continuity. As a consequence, we will introduce an Inland Peak Season Surcharge for all export and import rail moves across the entire rail network—regardless of whether specific routes are directly affected by the disruption , as per below:
