IPE/IPI - German North Ports

As part of A.P. Moller – Maersk’s goal to ensure the efficiency of your supply chain, we are continually keeping an eye on developing situations.

The recent congestions in the ports of Wilhelmshaven, Bremerhaven and Hamburg have meant that we have had to assess the sustainability and accuracy of our inland transportation rates. To secure the needed capacity in the market and minimise disruptions to your supply chains, we will be introducing an Inland Peak Surcharge (IPI/IPE) across all inland transport modes via the ports of Wilhelmshaven, Bremerhaven and Hamburg.

As of the 15 September 2025, we will be implementing this surcharge for all Carrier Haulage and Multi-carrier Inland bookings as follows:

• For Belgium, Netherlands, Luxemburg, Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Liechtenstein and Poland via BREMERHAVEN, DE, HAMBURG, DE and WILHELMSHAVEN, DE to World: EUR 25 per container.
• Surcharge will be applied based on Price Calculation Date (PCD)

The surcharge will remain in place as long as it is necessary to ensure we can provide our customers with the needed capacity in the face of reduced turnaround times impacting landside productivity.
