Following a new instruction issued by Customs authorities prohibiting the use of split Bills of Lading (BL) for Less than Container Load (LCL) of car shipments destined for Algerian ports, we kindly request that you take the following actions:

  • Return the original Bills of Lading to Maersk (either at our office of origin or destination).
  • Request your supplier to consolidate the Bills of Lading so that the entire shipment is manifested under a single Bill of Lading, with a designated consolidator listed as the consignee.

This measure is effective and applicable as of today.

Failure to comply with this requirement will result in containers being neither manifested nor discharged, in accordance with Customs regulations.

We count on your cooperation to complete these procedures as soon as possible.

Should you require any assistance or have questions, our team remains at your disposal at +213 21 99 30 00, or we encourage you to use our chat function on Maersk.com.
