We would like to inform you about upcoming changes to Polish regulations related to the SENT (System for Electronic Transport Supervision).
From 17-th of March 2026 SENT regulation will cover monitoring of transport of new categories of goods – clothing and footwear – import, export and transit. The SENT regulation introduces mandatory obligations for electronic registration and shipment monitoring. These obligations are valid for the senders and/or receivers of goods and transport providers.
Key responsibilities under SENT regulation:
- Senders and/or receivers of goods are legally responsible for:
- Opening the SENT registration
- Providing accurate shipment data
- Closing the SENT case after delivery
- Transport providers (truck or rail operators) are responsible for:
- Executing transport based on a valid SENT reference
- Providing transport data and GPS monitoring during transit
Maersk Poland is well prepared to comply with transport-related SENT requirements, provided a valid SENT reference is supplied by the customer. The sender/receiver part of the SENT process (opening and closing) remains the customer’s responsibility. Maersk does not currently offer SENT registration as a service.
Requests for Maersk to manage the full SENT process on behalf of customers are under internal review - no standard solution is available at this time.
Next Steps:
We strongly encourage customers to:
- Review their SENT obligations ahead of the 17 March 2026 go-live
- Ensure internal readiness for SENT registration where applicable
- Engage early with relevant compliance and logistics teams
