Reduced Electronic Cargo Release Service - Export (TLE) Fee for United States & Canada Exports

Effective June 8, 2026, Maersk will be lowering the Electronic Cargo Release (ECR) Service charge to $35 USD and applying the charge exclusively where the ECR/Bill of Lading Surrender service is used on Maersk.com in order to support multi-tiered pricing options for managing bills of lading (BL) ownership.

At the time of vessel sailing, all bill types will be issued to the Transport Document Receiver as indicated in the received shipping instructions. As the Transport Document Receiver with a valid web BL print agreement for the United States or Canada on file, you will have access to transfer ownership of Original Bills of Lading online (BL Transfer), or transfer and surrender to Maersk in one transaction (BL Surrender).

For detailed instructions on how to submit your Electronic Cargo Release/BL Surrender via Maersk.com, please refer to the steps outlined below.

1. From Manage Bookings, click “Surrender BL”, OR
1. From the Shipment Details Summary tab, click “Electronic Cargo Release”
2. Select the payer for the charge
3. Add any email that should receive confirmation of the submission
   1. The email on file for your online profile will be automatically included
4. Confirm Terms & Conditions acceptance and click “Submit”
