We would like to inform you that, following a strategic decision, active cooling services will no longer be available for any rail and rail-combined transportation within the North Europe Continent (NEC) region effective 1 September 2026.

As a result, from this date onward, we will no longer be able to accept new bookings that require active temperature-controlled transportation on rail-based services.

Solutions Available

To continue supporting customers with active cooling requirements, the following transport solutions remain available:

  • Direct truck transportation within NEC
  • Barge solutions via Westports

Important Note

This change applies only to active cooling services on rail and rail-combined transport solutions. Non-active reefer containers are not affected and will continue to be accepted and transported on rail services as normal.

We request you to consider the available alternative solutions listed above for future shipments requiring active temperature control.

Should you have any questions or require assistance in reviewing existing transportation arrangements, please contact your local Maersk representative.
