Maersk wishes to advise customers that a Peak Season Surcharge (PSS) will apply for cargo moving from East Africa to Belgium, Germany, Netherlands, Poland and Switzerland, with an effective price calculation date of 17 September 2026.
The surcharge is being introduced in response to prevailing market conditions, including capacity constraints affecting trade into North Europe, and is intended to support the continued provision of reliable transport services and access to available capacity into North Europe.
The tariff amount is detailed as follow:

Payment Terms: The surcharge will be applied and collected in accordance with the freight payment terms applicable to the shipment.
The Peak Season Surcharge forms part of the applicable ocean freight charges and is assessed in accordance with the relevant tariff, quotation, service contract, or transportation agreement
The above rate is subject to applicable contractual arrangements, local charges, surcharges, contingency charges, and any other charges that may apply. Nothing in this notice amends or overrides the terms of any applicable service contract, tariff, quotation, bill of lading, or other transportation agreement. All rates and charges remain subject to applicable laws and regulatory requirements.
