Maersk Star Inventors

The Maersk Star Inventor programme recognises and celebrates outstanding examples of technical innovation at Maersk, with particular focus on inventions and patents.

Be a star player as Maersk reinvents the game

Technology is at the core of Maersk’s strategy to transform the way the world moves. By providing our customers with data-driven logistics solutions, we enable them to simplify their supply chains, seize new opportunities, and make informed and sustainable decisions.

This approach is only possible with a strong culture of innovation, and we work hard to attract and nurture the finest technical talent. Through the Maersk Star Inventors programme, we support and reward our employees’ efforts to cocreate and accelerate the logistics solutions of tomorrow.

A platform for personal growth and industry transformation

A Maersk Star Inventor badge unlocks new opportunities – for individual careers at Maersk, as well as for the future of our industry. Maersk’s Intellectual Property Department nominates contenders using a points-based system based on the different types of IP rights generated.

The programme also ensures that Star Inventors can play an ongoing role in driving innovation among our diverse and high performing teams. This means taking the lead to increase IP awareness, mentoring less experienced inventors, and collaborating as a technical expert on key projects.

Meet our Maersk Star Inventors

Meet Anshuman Pradhan, Maersk Star Inventor

Anshuman earned the Maersk Star Inventor Award for pioneering language processing patents. One of his patents powers AI Agent Assist, a generative AI app. Our customer experience colleagues handle 28 million annual email queries, taking 5 minutes on average to resolve. AI Agent Assist provides pre-written email recommendations for over 80% of queries. Currently in a pilot phase, initial data indicates potential annual savings in the five-figure range when deployed to all 15,000 CX colleagues. The impact? Faster responses for customers, and happier CX colleagues focusing on value-add tasks. Anshuman's innovations promise efficiency gains and heightened satisfaction across the board.
