In continuation of previous communication occurred last 15th September (Low Water Level in Amazon River – Draft Restriction), Maersk wish to advise you that new records in the rules of the National Water Agency (ANA) indicate a more critical reduction in the operational draft of ships that transit from/to Manaus.
For security reasons and in accordance with the ordinance of the Fluvial Captaincy of the Western Amazon 164-CFAO of 06/09/2022, the draft restriction of our ships will be up to 40% of the planned forecast.
Based on above, we inform you that the tariff of Low Water Surcharge will be reviewed as of 6th November 2022, as follows.

LWC is an exceptional and temporary charge applicable due to the extraordinary conditions of navigation that will be periodically reviewed and adjusted, if necessary, by virtue of the current situation. It will be removed once the sailing conditions return to normal.
We regret having to implement this fee, and recognize the challenge it brings on you, but hope for your understanding. We appreciate your business and look forward to continuing working with you in the future.
