Service Speed Optimization - Transpacific - US East Coast

As your end-to-end logistics partner, we are constantly seeking ways to improve the reliability and efficiency of our services. That is why we are pleased to announce we are expanding our network options.

From late January onwards, we are going to add extra vessels to below US East Coast services to optimize ocean crossing speed within historically known variance.

Now more than ever, supply chain resilience and stability are key. These changes in some instances will increase cargo transit slightly (from 0.5 to max 2 days), but more importantly it will improve the reliability of our services, reducing schedule gaps and slidings. Our new network options will improve weekly coverage and allow for more robust supply chain planning. It will also help reduce the impact of congestion and bottlenecks. This offers you more mobility and greater ability to respond to market changes with agility.

With the major disruptions of the pandemic behind us, we can now make changes to optimise our network. This includes reducing fuel consumption and emissions. Sustainability is important to us at Maersk. These changes will help us meet our goal of achieving net zero greenhouse gas emissions across our business by 2040. We understand that sustainability is increasingly important to our customers too. We hope these steps will help you to meet your own targets.
