Impact of public transport strike action in Germany
Maersk would like to inform you that a nationwide strike action in public transport and other infrastructure is announced for Monday 27 March across Germany. While the exact impact to cargo movement is still unknown, delays are to be expected particularly for shipments moving by rail and through inland terminals at the beginning of next week.
Maersk planners are working closely with our service providers to understand the overall impact on our inland operations and pre-load containers on rail and direct truck transports where possible. Our teams remain in close contact with our partners in Germany and continue to work on contingency planning, should it be needed. We will communicate all information to customers as the situation develops and we have clarity on the impact.
We will continue to focus on maintaining the flow of cargo during this period and keep customer impact to a minimum. We thank you for your understanding and cooperation and remain at your disposal through local Customer Experience representatives should you have any questions or need further assistance.
