Booking Acceptance at Ports Around Red Sea / Gulf of Aden

In light of the ongoing situation around the Red Sea / Gulf of Aden, Maersk has made a number of adjustments to services and is continuing to adapt in order to serve customers as efficiently and safely as possible.

Heightened security in the area means that vessels have been unable to transit the Suez Canal safely from the east and subsequently call ports in and around the Red Sea. As such, Maersk has temporarily stopped acceptance of any new bookings to / from the following ports from / to Asia, Middle East, Oceania, East Africa, Indian Subcontinent and Indian Ocean islands:

• Port Sudan (SDPZU)
• Port of Ain Sokhna (EGSOK)
• Port of Aqaba (JOAHZ)
• Jeddah Port (SAJED)
• King Abdullah Port (SAKAP)

Please note that bookings from / to Europe, North America, Latin America, and West Africa will continue to be served through the Suez Canal to / from the above listed ports. Bookings between the ports will also be facilitated as normal.

We understand the impact this may have on your supply chain, but rest assured that this is a temporary measure and all decisions have been carefully considered by our teams in the interest of safety.

We will continue to do all in our power to find solutions for you. If you have an existing westbound booking to or between any of the above ports, our teams will reach out to you directly to you to discuss options for your cargo.

Maersk is also implementing a new shuttle service from the Mediterranean to Red Sea ports to ensure we continue to serve affected customers. This will be in place from week 52 2023 and we will keep customers informed of the latest developments and schedules as soon as possible.

The rotation of the service will be as follows:

Port Tangiers – Port Said – Jeddah – King Abdullah – Port Said
