We have been informed that the UNION called for an unannounced strike action in Germany – starting first shift this morning – to put additional pressure on prior the 3rd negotiation round.
The strike will affect the Port of Hamburg, the Port of Bremen, as well as Bremerhaven, Brake and Emden. The strikes in Hamburg will begin on June 17, 2024, at 5:00 a.m. and, depending on the port location, will last for approximately 24 or 48 hours, until late in the evening of June 17 or June 18, 2024.
This will have widespread implications on our network, with multiple vessels already planned to be worked today / tomorrow. With current outlook on the vessels, we do expect a knock-on effect for all vessels. Consequently, this will cause further delays!
Rest assured, that we are doing everything possible to minimize the impact of the situation.
Impact for Finland:
Week 25
Calisto 424N/425S Helsinki, already sailing towards Helsinki, todays strike in GER not impacting ETA. ETA still one day delayed Wed 19th morning.
Judith 424E/425W Rauma, vessel currently in Hamburg. ETA Rauma 22nd/23rd this under review, also Rauma cargo ops will be knowing only later this week (pending overtime availability). Possible further delay doesn’t impact Rauma export deadlines, remains at Thu 20th 09:00 due to Midsummer.
Week 26
Impact on ETAs Helsinki/Rauma not known yet. Expecting to get more information during today.
