Due to escalations in tensions in the Middle East that have impacted operations involving Iran and Israel, Maersk has previously announced a temporary suspension of vessel calls to the Port of Haifa.
With the prospect of current cease-fire agreement bringing de-escalation to the conflict, we have decided to resume vessel calls to the Port of Haifa, and acceptance for both import and export cargo is now open. We will continue to monitor the situation closely and will be ready to make changes if safety concerns reappear.
As of 25 June 2025, we have reopened import cargo acceptance to Haifa port. Vessels scheduled to call Haifa will continue with their regular port calls starting Monday, 30 June.
The situation and operations at the Port of Ashdod remain unchanged, though we continue to monitor the latest developments and maritime advisories. For the latest updates on your cargo, please sign up for ETA notifications and you will be updated as any changes are made in the system.

June 26th, 2025 – Update 5
Tensions in the Middle East have significantly escalated, impacting operations involving Iran and Israel. Given the ongoing volatility and to ensure the safety of our crew, vessels and customers’ cargo, Maersk temporarily suspended vessel calls to the Port of Haifa.
As of 25 June 2025, cargo acceptance to Haifa port for imports has been reopened. We are monitoring the situation very closely and based on the recent developments and with prospects of a cease-fire currently in place, we expect to be able to reopen export cargo acceptance once the lower safety risk of doing so has been reconfirmed.
Operations continue at the Port of Ashdod, though we are closely monitoring the situation and will promptly reassess our decisions based on objective security assessments and maritime advisories.
As of 25 June 2025, the Strait of Hormuz remains navigable, and Maersk is closely following maritime security advisories. Our teams are working out contingency plans on a case-by-case basis to swiftly adapt to potential changes and will update customers of changes to the situation.
Your cargo
We understand the importance of clear and reliable information during this uncertain period. Cargo acceptance to Haifa port for imports has now been reopened and we continue to monitor the situation for export acceptance and resuming sailings to Haifa.
Current diversion plans and contingencies for cargo from Haifa are actively being finalised on a case-by-case basis. Customers will receive updates when they are entered in the system through the ETA notification system, which we encourage you to join by clicking here.

We continue to monitor the situation very closely, especially considering the US involvement in the conflict. At the moment sailing through the Strait of Hormuz continues, but we are ready to re-evaluate this based on information available. Equally, we will continuously monitor the security risk to our specific vessels in the region and are ready to take operational actions as needed.
June 19th, 2025 – Update 2
As your integrated logistics partner, our aim is to give you the best ability to manage your supply chain. This is of the utmost importance to us, and our goal is to ensure that you have the necessary information to better plan your logistical network. In line with this, we would like to inform you about the latest developments in the Middle East.
After carefully analysing threat risk reports regarding the ongoing conflict between Israel and Iran - particularly the potential risks of calling specific Israeli ports and their implications for the safety of our crews, Maersk has made the decision to temporarily suspend vessel calls at the Port of Haifa, Israel and also suspend cargo acceptance for Haifa.
The safety and security of our seafarers and operations are our top priorities. We have taken this proactive measure to safeguard our people, assets, and customers’ cargo in light of increased regional instability.
We are in close contact with customers who may be impacted by this decision and are working to provide alternative transport solutions to minimise disruption. We will continue to closely monitor the situation and stand ready to reassess this decision as soon as it is safe and feasible to do so. Further updates will be shared as new information becomes available. At the same time, we continue to call the port in Ashdod and are making arrangements to offer our customers alternative solutions.
We continue to provide inland services in Israel based on the current setup with local partners.
June 16th, 2025 – Update 1
In light of the recent escalations in the Middle East that began on June 12, 2025, we would like to provide our customers with an update on the evolving situation and its potential impact on A.P. Moller – Maersk services.
Our immediate priority remains the safety and well-being of our colleagues in affected areas. We are pleased to confirm that all Maersk employees are currently safe. As a precaution, we have advised teams in impacted locations to work remotely. In parallel, we have activated our business continuity procedures to minimize potential disruptions to operations and service delivery.
Air operations in Israel are currently suspended due to the airport’s ongoing closure. In Jordan, the airspace has experienced multiple closures over the past two days, resulting in disruptions to air operations. Our Security & Business Continuity team is monitoring the situation closely to ensure the safety of our people and maintain continuity of operations.
We are coordinating closely with relevant stakeholders to monitor developments and respond swiftly to any changes that may affect our customers or their cargo. We are committed to keeping you informed as the situation evolves and are prepared to offer alternative logistics solutions should the need arise.
