Metroport Rail Update

From 1 December 2025, the contractual provider of rail services between Auckland Metroport and the Port of Tauranga will change from the Port of Tauranga to KiwiRail.

Contracting for the rail service will move from Port of Tauranga to KiwiRail. We are in the process of agreeing the new commercial terms for this service and with this there may be some impact to our charges. We will confirm this to you prior to the new operation.

Maersk remains confident that the integrity of the rail solution will remain with no impact to operations at any point and we are currently working through the process of contracting the new product offering directly with Kiwirail and will be engaging soon with more details if required.
