Following our earlier advisories on 3rd November and 21st November, and the Congestion Surcharge Notice issued on 17th November (Lyttelton Port Operational Advisory Update | Maersk), we remain committed to keeping our customers informed as the situation evolves and to taking proactive measures to support business continuity.

We have received information that the operational outlook at Lyttelton Port is projected to improve over the coming weeks, which should, in turn, improve the port productivity. Based on current projections, and subject to ongoing conditions, Maersk anticipates reducing the congestion surcharge to zero effective 8 December 2025. Until that date, the originally advised congestion surcharge of USD 200 per container will remain in effect. A formal surcharge amendment advisory will follow shortly.

The situation at Lyttelton Port continues to be closely monitored and the congestion surcharge remains variable dependent on actual port conditions. However, this surcharge adjustment reflects Maersk’s commitment to supporting our customers during this period of disruption.

We appreciate your continued partnership and will provide further updates as the situation develops.
