NOMINATION AND TRANSFER FROM THE PORT OF DOMESTIC

CONTAINERIZED CARGO TO CONTAINER FREIGHT STATIONS

Further to the Joint Communiqué by Kenya Ports Authority (KPA) and Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA) on Measures to Enhance Efficiency at the Port of Mombasa issued on 6th November 2025, and our subsequent Notice dated 14th November 2025 on nomination and transfer of Containerized Cargo to CFS, notice is hereby given to customers that KPA will cease clearance of Domestic Containerized Cargo at the Port with effect from 10th December 2025. As such, cargo owners are advised to nominate a CFS for cargo clearance at the port of loading.

In the event that the importer fails to nominate their Containerized Cargo, details of such consignment(s) will be availed to the Container Freight Stations Association (CFSA) for allocation to CFSs in the vicinity of the Port, from where clearance processes and eventual cargo evacuation will be undertaken.

Containerized Cargo on Through Bill of Lading (TBL) 0s not affected by this directive.

This will take place with immediate effect.
