Effective July 10, 2026, we will change the name of the charge used to invoice the Emergency Intermodal Fuel Surcharge for shipments moving through inland rail ramps or container yards in the United States and Canada. There is no change to current emergency fuel pricing and does not introduce any increase in charges. This update separates the Emergency Intermodal Fuel Surcharge from the Ocean Emergency Bunker Surcharge which is currently used to invoice both elements on applicable lanes. This is intended to provide clearer visibility of applicable fuel charges.
The new surcharge descriptions will be as follows:
Imports: Emergency Operational Cost Recovery
Exports: Emergency Operational Cost Exports
