The BREXIT transition period will expire on 31st December 2020 23:00 GMT when Great Britain is due to leave the European Union.
Under the terms of the Northern Ireland Protocol special consideration has been made to protect Northern Ireland cargo due to its soft border with the Republic of Ireland. Under this agreement Northern Ireland remains part of the European Customs Union.
There will be a new advance security filing required for cargo moving to Great Britain (England, Scotland & Wales). This is called a Safety & Security (S&S) Declaration and will be submitted to the GB S&S system. This security filing covers all Import, transhipment and Freight Remain on Board (FROB) cargo. Therefore, the customers are requested to submit the shipping instructions atleast 34 hours prior vessel arrival at last foreign port before the vessel arrives in Great Britain Customs water.
Consequently, it will become mandatory to include GB EORI numbers in the Shipping Instructions for the Consignee and First Notify Party(s) for shipments to Great Britain.
For more information regarding EORI numbers please visit website here.
