Hamburg Süd, along with many of our other brands, is now unifying with Maersk. This will enable even more integrated logistics and offer you an unmatched combination of our asset-controlled asset network and new digital platforms while maintaining strong competencies to support your business growth.
Here’s a summary of what will change:
- In the coming months, we will begin servicing you using the Maersk name.
- Changes to the appearance of physical assets and offices are underway and are expected to continue over the remainder of 2023.
- Our Hamburg Süd social media accounts and newsletters will be phased out. Relevant content will be shared on Maersk equivalents going forward.

In the coming months, we will begin servicing you using the Maersk name. You will then be invited to begin booking through Maersk. Depending on how you currently book with us, we will endeavour to mirror your booking journey with Maersk, including setting up new EDI and API connections.
If you need support booking through Maersk.com, we have an easy to follow step-by-step guide. You can consult our Brand Transition page which hosts our Frequently Asked Questions. Our account managers and customer service staff are standing by to help if you need support.
If you use EDI and API connections with a third-party provider, you need to inform this third party once you have been migrated from Hamburg Süd to Maersk. After this point, new EDI bookings can only be placed with the Maersk EDI channel.
We understand that even after the migration, there may still be shipments enroute, and we have asked third party providers to continue to send EDI Cargo Status messages until those shipments are complete.
We understand that not all Hamburg Süd customers will need integrated logistics services and products. If this is the case for you, you will still have access to the elements you need, as well as our continued commitment to providing you with the best possible service. Please reach out to our local teams to discuss your needs and what we can offer you.

You will be notified by our teams when the process of shifting you to Maersk begins. At this point, you will be invited to start booking through Maersk. Please be assured that you will be given sufficient notice.
We are doing everything we can to make this transition a smooth experience for you and your business, and to ensuring you are advised of changes that may be relevant to your business.
We will contact you to let you know when you have been moved from Hamburg Süd to Maersk. Once this has happened, you will be invited to book through Maersk.
Through integrating Hamburg Süd into Maersk, you will have access to an extensive range of transportation products and logistical services. Additionally, you will have access to Maersk’s unmatched controlled asset network, giving you more control and visibility when it comes to your logistical needs.
Our ambition is to mirror your current booking journey where possible, but we also want to simplify how you interact with us. As such, you might be encouraged to start booking with us through the Maersk.com website after a given transition period.

Who to contact
Hamburg Süd contact details, including email addresses, will remain active for a period after the transition. However, staff may start to respond to you from the Maersk addresses.
If you are emailing group emails, you will get an autoreply with the new contact details when the time comes. Until then, you can use the same Hamburg Süd contact information as before.
