During recent weeks, we have seen the unfortunate impact of delays and scheduling disruption to supply chains due to the high swell events at Napier. We would like to inform you that Maersk have now received notification from Napier terminal that to support the return to pro-forma berth windows over the coming weeks, the following changes will be applied to receival and delivery (R&D) hours of operation.
- The Napier receival window will remain as 6 days prior to vessel arrival, however this period will no longer be extended if a vessel is delayed. Once the 6-day receival period is concluded, receivals will fully close and lock-out.
- Saturday R&D will be closed until further notice, due to low utilisation. Terminal resources will be prioritised to vessel operations while Friday R&D hours will be extended to 2300 hours to allow for additional late gate receivals.
In dealing with the challenges presented by any potential scheduling disruption to our Napier services over the coming weeks, our capacity teams have been diligently reviewing cargo volumes and working closely with the terminal, to aim to optimise cargo flows and mitigate the impact to your supply chain.
Our teams are also available to discuss competitive inland solutions involving rail and trucking options for any affected dry shipments which can move through to Tauranga, should we experience ongoing disruption to Napier loading.
We thank you for your ongoing trust and support in Maersk as your supply chain partner. Should you have any questions please contact our Customer Experience Team via our Live Chat channel.
