Following on from the Brexit vote in 2016, as of 30th April 2024 all European imports which are considered ‘medium risk’ (plant health, live animal, and animal products) to the UK will face physical inspections as part of our new borders.
New charges will be applicable for these shipments that enter the UK.
Fees for Plant Health Import Inspections in England and Wales effective 30.04.24 are available.
Fees for Plant Health Import Inspections in Scotland effective 30.04.24 are available.
Fees for Live Animal consignments for England, Wales and Scotland are available.
Fees for the Common user charge rates applying to imports entering Great Britain through the Port of Dover and Eurotunnel are also available.
Information on the Ports of Hull and Immingham is available. From the 30th April 2024, all import laden containers and trailers (of any type) will be levied a charge of £12.72per unit. The charge will be reviewed annually. Additional charges to this will also be applied such as shunting, restow, handballing and re-work.
We will notify on Animal Origin when published, this is a working progress. Up-dates will be published is due course.
