Diversity, Equity and Inclusion at A.P. Moller – Maersk
At Maersk, we want to build an organization that reflects the diversity of the world and the communities we serve. We are committed to creating a diverse and inclusive workplace where everyone is empowered to thrive.
How we’re building belonging at Maersk
Diversity, equity and inclusion at Maersk is a work in progress. We are constantly questioning and challenging ourselves to remove barriers – unconscious or otherwise – that prevents colleagues from feeling comfortable in being their full authentic self.
By fostering a trusting and open culture, rooted in highly cherished values and ethics, we are confident that we will succeed. We all thrive when we are part of something that feels worthwhile.

“We aim to create a culture where everyone feels able to speak out and to provide support for employees when needed. No one should have to suffer in silence.”
Working across cultures without boundaries
We serve customers from all around the world and work in international and diverse environment, across countries and cultures, so it’s incredibly important for us that we create a workplace where everyone feels comfortable being their authentic self.
Why cultural intelligence matters at Maersk:
Our Employee Resource Networks (ERNs)
To support the diversity of our people, we have several employee resource networks (ERNs) run by passionate colleagues working to create a more inclusive workplace.
Our ERNs include, Pride@Maersk, RISE, Power Women Network, MIX (Maersk Inclusion of Excellence) and Diverse Abilities.

At Maersk, our culture of inclusion is rooted in psychological safety. We believe that fostering an environment where everyone feels safe to speak up and be themselves is the foundation that empowers our people to thrive. This is how we unlock the full potential of our talent and build a culture of high performance.
Wellbeing at Maersk
Our colleagues’ wellbeing is incredibly important and is priority as we build a culture of engagement where everyone feels cared for. With work and home life merging more and more, it is more important than ever that we support our colleagues when they need it.
Speak Out Safely or SOS is our global strategy for mental health, and our Employee Assistance Programme is available to all employees.

Encouraging a flexible working culture
Flexible working not only helps our colleagues balance their professional and personal responsibilities and circumstances; it also has a positive impact on engagement and productivity.
This is why we actively encourage Flexible Work Arrangements which allow every employee the opportunity to modify their working pattern – where possible – in consultation with their line manager.
