The integrity of our products and our customer promise is paramount to serving all our customers. The situation over the last 12 months is unique, with all continents seeing high volumes and operational challenges restricting land side capacity at the same time. We expect the strong export demand from Asia to continue in Q3 and ocean space is projected to be tight. Our focus remains on securing coverage, equipment and reliable capacity solutions. As part of these efforts, we would like to inform you about an update to the shipment process for Maersk Spot effective from 12 July 2021 onwards for all China export bookings.
In order to maximize space availability and enhance our service of delivery to all our customers, the split and combine booking service on Maersk Spot before empty container gate-out will be stopped. After 12 July 2021, the option to split and combine bookings ahead of gate-in will cease to exist. This change in process will at first instance be applicable for all Maersk Spot export bookings from China to the world, with this process to apply globally over the coming months.
We would like to emphasize that the split and/or combine connected to the bill of lading service post empty container gate-out remains unchanged and will continue being offered, to meet the documentation/bill of lading requirements to process shipments if needed on request.
Our customers’ supply chains are of the utmost importance to us and we want to ensure reliability in our operations while addressing all our customers’ needs. Should you have any questions to the above, please do not hesitate to contact your local representatives. You will find contact details of our local offices on Maersk website.
We want to thank you for your collaboration and partnership and look forward to continuously serving your global transportation needs.
