We would like to inform you of an upcoming change to our Pier Pass Fee due to change in charges regulated by the marine container terminals at the Port of Long Beach and Los Angeles. Beginning 1 April 2022, a Port Clean Truck Fee (CTF) will begin and is required for non-exempt cargo to be allowed to enter or exit the marine terminals. For customers in which Maersk is clearing Pier Pass, the CTF fee will also be cleared in conjunction with the Pier Pass Payment.
The CTF rate was adopted by the ports Boards of Harbor Commissioners in March 2020, with the applicable rate collection approved in November 2021.
Beneficial Cargo Owners (BCOs), or their authorized agents, are responsible for paying the CTF rate. Each port’s tariff includes a provision prohitbing the CTF rate being paid by truck drivers.
To pay, the BCO or agent, must log into the PORTCHECK system and clear the containers prior to pick up or drop-off by the drayage truck. The CTF rate web portal is connected to the existing PierPass system. It is imperative that all containers have Pier Pass (TMF) and Clean Truck Fee(CTF) claimed prior to.
Tutorials, user manuals, and step by step presentations on how to pay the CTF, are available at Trucks | Clean Air Action Plan
Effective from 5 May 2022, the Pier Pass Fee (PIP) will increase from USD 75 per container to USD 100 per container to account for the inclusion of the CTF.
We would like to take this opportunity to say thank you for doing business with us.
