Planned rail strike in UK
A.P. Moller – Maersk would like to make you aware of the RMT Union’s plan for strike action on Wednesday 27th July, Thursday 18th August and Saturday 20th August, which is set to cause significant disruption across the United Kingdom’s rail network.
Our planners are working closely with the rail freight operators every day to understand the overall impact this will have on inland operations, and we will be able to communicate a bigger picture in terms of schedule amendments and service omissions to you in the near future.
Should strike dates go ahead as planned, Maersk teams will work hard to minimise disruption for customers within the constraints of operational feasibility. However, in the interest of planning ahead, we would strongly recommend that customers get in touch with their Customer Experience representative to discuss options for advancing and pre-positioning cargo in order to mitigate the impact on the inbound flow of goods.
The situation is subject to change at short notice, but we will do all in our power to keep you informed and give you the necessary support to keep your supply chain moving.
If you have any questions at all, please don’t hesitate to reach out to your local Maersk team.
