Recently we provided guidance for future check remittance for all of North America, and we would like to share further related to United States and Canada, respectively and specifically. We apologize for any confusion our original notice might have caused and appreciate your review and support in handling future check payments as per below.

For quickest freight release, please use our online tools by logging into Maersk.com and registering for our free Smart Pay option if you have not already.

For Canadian customers your submission option to our local offices remains for both OBL and checks, in addition to the options provided for US customers:

For US customers submitting physical checks for payment, we ask that you please send all checks to the address noted below as of January 1st.

Overnight Mail Address for Checks & Remittance:

Checks will be processed, and freight will be released within one working day of receipt.

Effective this week, any checks and remittance received at the Charlotte office will be returned to the sender via USPS mail.

Separately, Original Bills of Lading should be sent by express courier to the following address:

Checks will be processed, and freight will be released 24 hours after receipt.

Please note that, effective January 1, any checks and remittance received at the Charlotte office will not be processed and will be returned to the sender via USPS mail. We have taken this step to avoid lengthy processing of customer receivables.

We had initially advised Customers in back 2019 that checks were to be sent to the Maersk lockbox. However, in response to policies related to the pandemic, we had been making exceptions to this policy. To ensure that your checks are processed in a timely manner going forward, please use the provided address of our check processing facility.

If you need to send an original Bill of Lading for a freight release, you must send it by express courier to the following address:
