Announced strike action in Germany
A. P. Moller – Maersk would like to make you aware of different strike actions across Germany.
German Farmers’ Association started on January 8th 2024 at 05:00am with blockades at important traffic junctions and access roads.
Further, GDL announced strikes of the freight transportation as from January 9th 6:00pm, followed by strikes of public transportation as from January 10th 2:00am.
As a result, severe delays are to be expected on inland transportations, including deliveries that cannot be performed at all.
Our planners are working closely with the rail and air freight operators every day to understand the overall impact this will have on our operations, and we will communicate any changes in schedules as soon as more information becomes available. Maersk teams continue to focus on minimising the impact to our customers and maintaining the flow of cargo within operational feasibility. In case of impact or delays to your cargo, your dedicated Customer Experience representative will be in touch as your booking is updated.
We would like to thank you for your trust and understanding during this time, while we remain committed to providing you the information needed to manage your supply chain. Should you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to get in touch with your usual contact.
