Doesn’t the shipping company have to cover my loss?
Shipping companies do not insure your cargo, however they may be liable for loss or damage to cargo up to certain limitations. To make a liability claim can be difficult since you need to prove the carrier is responsible and there may be multiple carriers involved along with strict timeframes for claiming. Also, there may be exemptions such as losses due to natural perils (Acts of God), or War/Strikes risks.
