We have been emailing you quite frequently the last months – first regarding the global effects of the Suez incident, and most recently the effects of Yantian. Unfortunately, when one port is impacted it can become a downward spiral for the rest of the network.

We are doing our utmost to keep your cargo moving without disruption or delay, but due to current market conditions, Northern European Hub Terminals are currently stressed due to delayed arrivals from origin, high demand and significant yard density that all contribute to lower than usual productivity in several ports. Ongoing COVID-19 disruptions and challenges getting sufficient labour for the holiday period adds to the situation. We recognize that this is causing delays to our customers’ supply-chains and mitigating those disruptions is of the utmost importance to us. The situation is particularly challenging at several Hub Ports across Northern Europe. Our most current numbers indicate the following

Previously we have communicated the diversion of our AE7 mainline service from Hamburg Eurogate to Bremerhaven NTB to mitigate delays and waiting times. Ongoing contingency plans will always be made with the objective of minimising supply chain delays and we ask that you bear with us while we manage the overall situation as best as we can. Please click here for our previous customer advisory.

Whilst the situation remains fluid we expect current conditions in the Northern European Ports to improve over the coming 30 days. Should the current outlook change, we will update our plans and inform you accordingly. Please note that you can use our interactive map functionality to track any Maersk vessel in real time and gain access to AI-powered predictive analysis and estimated times of arrival (ETA) via our Hub. Meantime, dedicated teams are managing the ongoing situation through a taskforce and Peter Drake, Head of Network and Capacity in North Europe, puts some words on the current situation

Throughout this process we aim to give as much clarity and notice as possible, but please continue to visit Maersk website for all the latest updates.
