Revamped transatlantic winter plan

The severity of the weather across the Atlantic at the back end of 2021 forced Maersk to operate a revised winter schedule for its Mediterranean to North America routes, looking to minimise disruption and enhance reliability for customers.

TA5 and TA6 services were subject to new schedules that were originally planned to run until the end of January, but current bottlenecks seen across the North America network means adjustments will continue to be in place until April 2022.

The situation in North America is driven by a number of factors, including local congestion in US terminals, but Maersk is doing all in its power to combat the circumstances and minimise their impact on customers until normal service resumes.

Rest assured, changes to the schedules have been carefully considered to ensure customer supply chains keep moving. Maersk will continue to monitor the ever-changing situation and act accordingly to continue providing a reliable service to customers.

These schedules have been updated in our booking system, and for those ports that are impacted and where we have the ability to offer an alternative sailing or routing the same week, these options will be available to you. We expect that this program will vastly improve the customer experience with Maersk, as sudden changes to your cargo plan will have less of an impact.

TA5 – MEDUSEC (revamped winter plan)

Weekly omissions of Sines.
Bi- weekly omission of Valencia Eastbound call.
Alternate omission in USEC ports with below sequence: Norfolk, Savannah, Baltimore and Charleston.
Reset of network from week 07 into week 08.

Port Rotation

Gioia Tauro – Naples – Leghorn – Genoa – Valencia – Algeciras – Sines (omission) - Newark- Baltimore- Norfolk - Savannah - Charleston – Algeciras – Valencia (bi-weekly omission)

TA6– MEDGULF (revamped winter plan)

Weekly omissions of Miami Eastbound until week 07
Weekly omissions of Sines Eastbound calls
Alternate bi-weekly omissions between Barcelona Westbound and New Orleans calls

Gioia Tauro – Naples – La Spezia – Barcelona (alternate bi-weekly omission) – Valencia – Algeciras – Sines- Freeport BS – Miami – Veracruz – Altamira – Houston – New Orleans (alternate bi-weekly omission) – Miami (omission) – Freeport BS – Sines (omission) – Algeciras – Barcelona- Gioia Tauro
