Global trade dynamics are shifting. The major disruptions of the pandemic are behind us, but 2023 will bring new challenges. As your end-to-end logistics partner, we are constantly seeking ways to improve the reliability and fuel efficiency of our services. To this effect, we are pleased to announce positive changes to our Asia to Europe network.
As of week 23, we are injecting 1 vessel to each of the AE5, AE10, AE7, AE55, AE11, AE12, AE15 services and 2 vessels to the AE6 service. The added vessels will allow us to reduce speeds providing needed buffer to absorb schedule challenges, improving reliability, and decreasing the risk of void sailings. All this in support of your supply chain planning.
The speed reductions will furthermore reduce emissions significantly, bringing us a big step forward in the path to achieving our goal of net zero greenhouse gas emissions across our business by 2040, helping each of you to reduce the carbon footprint of your supply chains.
The changes are expected to lead to the following average transit time impact:
From Asia to North Europe +3 Days*
From Asia to Mediterranean +2 Days*
From North Europe to Asia +3 Days*
From Mediterranean to Asia +3 Days Days*
*Disclaimer: Average transit time impact is based on standard operating environment.
Our schedules will be updated as soon as possible to allow you to see impact to your specific cargo flows through the usual channels.
We know that your requirements are evolving. Our teams are ready to work with you and find solutions to all your logistics needs. As well as our ocean services, we have barge, trucking and rail solutions available to you at all times. Please reach out to your Maersk representative if you have any questions or need assistance.
Thank you for your trust and loyalty. We look forward to continuing to support you with all your logistical needs.
