Hi, I'm Anna, I live in Poland, and I am Customer Service Manager in the Centre of Excellence for North Europe Continent region at Maersk. What I love most Maersk are the people, the training and career opportunities, and the supportive environment.

Start of my logistics journey

I first joined Maersk in 2007 as an export customer service agent, gradually moving through various roles in customer experience until I became a manager. In 2019, I left to explore different aspects of logistics, working in the forwarding industry, with a forwarder, and even on the customer side. By March 2023, I felt it was the right time to return to Maersk to lead a team of leaders.

Returning to Maersk

Returning to Maersk was an easy decision. I had missed the fast-paced environment, the complexity of the work, and the direct interaction with customers. The values and culture at Maersk, along with the familiar faces, made it feel like coming home.

Now, as the Customer Service Manager, I oversee a team within the Direct Transport Customer Service, my team work with handling forwarders above a certain shipment volume across Poland, DACH, and the Netherlands.

My manager who hired me in my first forwarding company 20 years ago, provides huge support. She leads by example and embodies Maersk’s values in all her decisions. We share the same office, and I receive daily feedback from her which is incredibly valuable. She has taught me a lot, and along with the excellent training programmes at Maersk, I feel comfortable in my role and leading my team.

Training and career development

Our road growth maps, and performance reflections offers flexible and are tailored to our individual goals.

The Learning and Development team ensure that we have what we need to be successful. For example, when the Centre of Excellence was created and I rejoined Maersk, we had dedicated trainers covering different areas such as process, operations, and customer service. If we ever need training that isn’t available, we can request it. Everything is possible here!

The culture and people at Maersk are truly unique. I can’t recall a single person I didn’t like working with. We have a work environment where everyone treats each other with respect, regardless of who they are, and there’s always an openness to feedback and making improvements. I can express my thoughts openly as the culture here fosters honesty and communication. For me, it’s not only about the compensation or career progression; it’s also about working with individuals who embody our values.
